If you look at mainstream porn, most of the models are young, hung and muscular or toned. And yet, the vast majority of our community doesn’t fall into these narrow categories. Some of us are rounder. Some of us are older. Some of us are smaller. And some of us are all three. And as such, a few questions arise.
If we only see one type of man in gay porn, what message does that send to people who are bodied differently?
If we only see one type of man in gay porn, how can we expand our definition of sexiness? How can we be attracted to what we never see?
And are our desires and so called “types” completely intrinsic, or are they shaped by the world around us – including the porn we consume? Does our desire for young, hung muscular men come from ourselves – or is it influenced by the content we consume? And is there a way to break the cycle?
